Mayor
McCa, like all the best mayors, can do a lot of things. He's
not merely a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who can play every instrument
known to one-man bands (while singing and tap-dancing), he also draws
comics, designs posters and makes stop-motion animation videos, like the
mighty fine 'One
Million Songs For You'.
'Drinkalottawater' is the title of the most recent song
he has animated and the video he's made for was a bigger project; it took
Mayor McCa seven months to storyboard, make the props and shoot
the video, which is directed by renowned photographer Dean
Chalkley and Yemisi Brookes. So naturally
he's ready to celebrate its completion.
The Municipality of McCaland presents 'Drinkalottawater'. Enter McCaland
and meet its leader, Mayor McCa, as he celebrates the
video release by playing live on the night and introducing sets by Moshi
Moshi artists Slow
Club and The
Hoodlums.
Dean Chalkley takes a break from being behind the lens
to get back behind the decks, spinning a rockin', rollin' eclectic mix
of tunes alongside G the P (Get Involved), Ollie
Boat and Miss Red.
And you can enjoy a display of the Mayor's own comic books, poster art,
toys and home-made props spanning McCa's prolific career.
