This month The Big Bam Boo present The Big Bam Boo Carnival Special showcasing the best in "tropical" music without overture or cliche. Hosts Stamford Hill Gun Club present a dizzying sonic voyage through the rivers of time to the dancehalls of Xanadu, sailing from calypso's, mambo, ska, highlife, tropicalia and cuban beebop to circus chanson, r'n'b, black rock'n'roll and beyond.

After a hectic festival tour, where they conquered Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Bestival, the Big Bam Boo crew cast the net far and wide to team up with some dear friends for a very, very special occasion. Guests Sweet Charity from Barcelona have travelled the globe in search of rare exotic 7" jewels lost to time and taste, so prepare for a unique listening experience as they moor their musical cruise liner, HMS Sweet Charity into dock for a feast for the ears. Meanwhile the carnival king himself Gaz Mayall(Gaz’s Rocking Blues) and his long time cohort the mighty high priest Natty Congeroo Bo (Top Cats/Ska Cubano & Gaz's Rock'n'Blues) will be dropping some heavy jump up roots music, with a dj set from globetrotting Brazilian starlet Cibelle, the wonderful Zebra Girls from Zebra World dancers plus live bands.
