Bombay Bronx

There's a clash going on. On the streets of Toronto, London, Birmingham, Colombo, Karachi and Bombay (Mumbai) asian bad boys and desi divas blend asian flavas and New York City swagger. As rap beats smash against each other, tabla players weave in and out of the snares and hi hats. Sitar players sit atop the deep basslines, and singers from allover the sub continent meet rappers head on. Think Jay Z and Panjabi MC, Dr Dre and Lata Mangeshkar, and hindi hip hop vs panjabi bhangra. Bombay Bronx: home of the brown funk, the black beats and the Asian lyrical diaspora.
